Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

July 2-4, 2021

Round #10 of the 2021 NTT INDYCAR SERIES Season

GENERAL INFO – The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is one of the oldest permanent road courses on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule. The track opened in 1962, built by a contingent of local business owners. Professional open wheel events date back to 1970. Several remodeled enhancements have occurred since opening, and the track provides a beautiful background for the INDYCAR event. The track encompasses 330 acres. Infield parking consists mostly of hard packed grass areas. This track is in the country. Don’t count on convenience stores or retail to purchase your race supplies near the track. Bring what you’ll need with you!

The Paddock will be open to fans. To enter the facility, you will need a minimum of a general admission ticket. A separate Paddock credential is required. Kids 12 and under receive free Paddock access with ticketed adult. Call the ticket office for details. Golf carts are available for rent thru National Carts, 1-800-940-8068, nationalcarts.com. Personal golf carts can be brought in, but must display a vehicle pass. Call ticket number for pricing and availability.

Food and drink are allowed to be brought in, but no glass bottles in the Paddock. Grilling is allowed in the camping and infield areas only. All live fires must be extinguished before leaving the area. The track food vendors offer mostly fair/carnival food at event prices. Pets are allowed but discouraged. All pets must remain on a leash and you must clean up after your pet.

Bring a hat, comfortable walking shoes, lawn chairs, ground cover, sunscreen and rain gear. Come prepared for whatever the forecast is projected! The infield parking has no designated spots, just grassy areas with a few trees. Expect hot and humid temperatures, as the date is the first week in July in the Midwest. Very few permanent restroom facilities, mostly portable toilets.

Mid-Ohio’s course is also used as a driving and riding school that provides professional driving and motorcycle riding instruction to participants at all skill levels. They boast of 53,500 graduates, including 18,500 teenagers and 13,000 motorcycle riders!

COVID INFORMATION AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS

Make a copy of your COVID-19 vaccination card and bring it with you. Masks or face coverings are not required for all who have been fully vaccinated. If you have not taken precautions of getting vaccinated, MASK UP!

Keep in mind that neither INDYCAR nor the track promoters have control over the Center for Disease Control or state and local regulations. Regulations are changing daily in many areas as the virus is still active. Safety to all fans and competitors is first and foremost. Read signs and follow instructions!

Although forgettable for many, 2020 will be remembered for no fans in attendance for spectator sports worldwide. INDYCAR sets the standard as the premier entertainment series in auto racing and we are not going racing full-time, full-schedule with fans in the stands!
