Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH

July 26-28, 2019

Round #13

GENERAL INFO – The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is one of the oldest permanent road courses on the INDYCAR schedule. The track opened in 1962, built by a contingent of local business owners. Professional open wheel events date back to 1970. Several remodel enhancements have occurred since opening., but the track provides a beautiful background for the NTT IndyCar Series and the entire Road to Indy. The track encompasses 330 acres. Infield parking consists mostly of hard packed grassy areas. This track is in the country. Don’t count on convenience stores or retail to purchase your race supplies near the track. Bring them with you.

Kids 12 and under are free with a ticketed or credentialed adult. If you want a grandstand ticket, everyone must have a grandstand ticket. Personal golf carts are allowed, but you must purchase a $100 permit in advance. Call the ticket office for info and details. Golf cart rentals are available for a fee, call 1-800-940-8068 asap. Camping is available, see camping tab for more info.

Food and drink are allowed in, but no glass bottles in the Paddock. Grilling is allowed in the camping and infield areas only. All live fires must be extinguished before leaving the area. The track food vendors offer mostly fair/carnival food at typical event prices. Pets are allowed but discouraged. All pets must remain on a leash and you must clean up after your pet.

Bring a hat, comfortable walking shoes, lawn chairs, sunscreen and rain gear. If it rains, you’ll encounter some areas with mud. Bring allergy meds if you need them. The infield is free parking, but no designated spots, just grassy areas with a few trees. Expect hot and humid temperatures, as the date is at the end of July in the Midwest. Check local weather, but dress accordingly. Some shade trees offer viewing areas out of the sun. Very few permanent restroom facilities, mostly portable toilets.

A guest shuttle runs throughout the facility making stops at the most traveled areas. Follow designated shuttle stops by locating signs. It’s amazing the different elevation and views this track affords. Travel light so you can either walk the course or jump on the shuttle.
