GENERAL INFO – This is the 10-year anniversary for IndyCar’s annual visit to this pristine permanent road course. This course and 880 acre grounds sets the standard for permanent road facilities with it’s immaculate, beautifully landscaped grounds just 14 miles east of Birmingham.
Inside the Barber grounds is the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. Recognized by Guinness as the World’s Largest Motorcycle Museum! An additional ticket is required for entry to the museum besides your race admission. It is a must-see while you’re at the track!
On Saturday and Sunday of race weekend inside the Hagerty Car Corral there is a wine sampling including craft beers and a Grand Art Fest. The Art Fest features handmade art, ceramics, paintings, jewelry and miscellaneous items. Both worth checking out.
A separate Fan Zone referred to as the Surgere Fan Zone, inside the track, features a Bud’s Best Ferris wheel, inflatables, merchandise, food vendors and also is home to Firestone Fan Village. Make sure to check out the INDYCAR Autograph Session on Friday from 1-2 pm CST and the Mario Andretti signing on Saturday from 12:30 – 2 pm CST.
Take time to wander around the grounds. From every twist and turn, different views of the track let’s you appreciate the elevation changes and drivers’ skill required to negotiate the 14 turns. Free spectator trams also stop at 8 different stops thru the perimeter of the track. The less gear you bring, easier to utilize the trams. Separate ADA trams accommodate those with disabilities. Both trams run continuously throughout the weekend.
Bring sunscreen, wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Lots of walking with elevation changes. Pine trees are prevalent in the area, including the track grounds. If you have pine pollen issues, bring the meds. It’s usually warm for this event, but it has also been plagued with rain, then mud, so be prepared.
SPECIFIC LOCATION – 6040 Barber Motorsports Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35094. More specifically, located near small town of Leeds, Alabama. Track is off Red Lake Road. Central Time Zone.

TRACK CONFIGURATION – Permanent road course, 2.38 mile in length with 17 turns and 80 feet of elevation changes.
PREFERRED AIRPORT – Birmingham-Shuttleworth International (BHM)
PARKING – Free parking on Friday and Saturday, first come, first served. Arrive early to park inside the track. On Sunday, charge will be required for all track parking, including ADA. ADA parking, near turn 14, Lot D adjacent to ADA viewing area. Free motorcycle parking all weekend! On Sunday, parking is available at the Outlet Shops of Grand River at no charge! Free shuttle to/from the track.
CREDENTIALS – All credentials will be available at the Hampton Inn on Rex Lake Road, across the road from the track entrance. Flip flops, sandals, tank tops and short-shorts should be avoided for pit/paddock entry.
ENTRY POINTS – One way in, one way out, making for a slow exit, be prepared. Coolers, lawn chairs, blankets, food, beverages, strollers and umbrellas allowed. No glass containers. Coolers subject to search at entry.
TICKET INFO – 1-877-332-7804, general information at 1-205-298-9040. Limited grandstand seating. Recommended all tickets, including general admission and parking be purchased in advance. ADA viewing next to turn 14 and adjacent to Lot 3. Active and retired military with proper valid military ID, receive a 10% off general admission upon arrival. Kids 15 and under receive FREE general admission and garage pass when accompanied by a ticketed adult! No excuse to not bring the kids along for a memorable day of IndyCar racing!
PROHIBITED ITEMS – No glass, firearms, scooters, skateboards or rollerblades. No animals. Call ticket number for clarification on service animals.
CAMPING – Some spots are sold out. Weekend rates are available, RV’s start at $200 and tents $100. Both include 20x20 spaces to include the living area and tow vehicle. Can enter at 3 pm on Thursday, 4/4 and must be out by 10 am, Mon., 4/8. Buy in advance. Call ticket number for further info and availability.
